We at Moto Roster HQ were seduced and burned by a similar 6-speed Allroad a few years back. Maybe this one with double the miles and lots of performance mods would serve us better?
Let's get all of the standard Allroad nightmares out of the way now. In stock form, the airbag suspensions were problematic (though cool). The bi-turbo tricks you into thinking that is shares lots of parts S4s of that era, and then you find out that a radiator fan costs $600. Add to all of the standard issues substantial "performance" mods, and high mileage and this should be an easy pass. But....
We can't help thinking "maybe this is the one." This generation of Allroad is a great size -- luxurious and lots of cargo room without being cumbersome. A 6-speed, bi-turbo wagon checks all of the boxes, and the tow hitch / 3rd row seat makes this thing eminently practical (in theory.)
RS6 wheels look great, and most of the mods make sense but somehow the long list of them make them seem less desirable. We love the looks of the S4 wheel, but we're always a little worried about airbag swaps.
I'm sure this owner has more than the asking price into this car but it would have to hit the $6,000 for us to roll the dice on this one. Find it here on eBay in Philadelphia with an $8,500 asking price.
