Sorry that we haven't been keeping up our normal pace of featured-cars. We recently took delivery of a project 912 at MR HQ so we've been a bit distracted.
This 1969 Porsche 912 rolled into our lives (mostly under its own power) a few weeks ago and we've been wrenching and scrubbing trying to get a feel for what exactly we're working with.
The good news is things that seem remarkably solid in terms of rust. The bad news is that there's a somewhat tired VW 1600 dual port in the back instead of the 912 motor.
We're not really too worked up about that motor since we're VW guys at our core. You can see a shot of the motor in all it's chromed, Empi glory -- that should irk our Porsche purists. The plan is to get this thing into cruising shape as-is for a few summer months and then make a real plan over the winter.
Suggestions? Ideas for a new spin on an outlaw build? Thoughts on if we're crazy to do a temporary plasti-dip job on this thing to get it all one color? Let us know.
In the meantime, we'll get back to our proper pace for feature cars and we're still shipping connected badges twice a week!
