This BMW started its life as a 528i wagon but it's now sporting a 4.4 liter V8 and a 6 speed. The circumstances that lead to this swap are somewhat questionable but the appeal of a 6-speed, V8, rear-wheel drive wagon is strong.
This ad is short of specifics but a bit of VIN searching shows that this wagon may have had some title issues at some point in NY. It's advertised now with a clean title in Florida so we're not sure what the deal is there but buyer beware.
Ignoring any suspect history, the V8 / 6-speed upgrade looks to be nicely done. We're not sure if you were able to order the V8 and the 6-speed in the E39 wagon in the States, but everything looks pretty stock here since all of these parts would have been options somewhere on the E39.
New paint looks great and the 540 wheels present nicely with what look to be new tires. With some questions about this vehicle's history the new paint could be a red flag so extra attention should be paid. Though it can be offputting, the Shadowline trim adds some subtle sportiness as opposed to the factory chrome.
Inside things are clean with our standard complaint about BMW wood trim ruining otherwise beautiful interiors.
Lots of possible red flags here, but if we were in Tampa we'd definitely be swinging by to take a look. Especially because the same dealer also has 5-Speed 3 Series Wagon for sale. Maybe you could get a package deal.
