We know that a car is special when wife of Moto Roster notices them on the road. We figure with that kind of "support" it will be easy to work the 25k asking price for this 1999 BMW M Coupe into our budget.
The M Coupe (and the Z too) are on lots of rosters and this one could be just the car to go from roster to garage. Silver on black may be a be viewed as boring by some, but we like this combo -- especially the all black interior. The seats are aggressive enough as they are, we feel like some of the two-tone interiors push things a little too much.
Honestly though, we wouldn't argue with any color combination so long as the 3.2L straight six is turning those colors into a blur. The 5-speed may feel very 1999 but is well suited to the task. Not much detail is given about maintenance, but the M motor, apparent originality, and very low mileage are the selling points here.
The Toy Barn (the seller) deals in high-end cars and we're guessing this was a trade in. Given the Toy Barn's clientele, it wouldn't be a huge jump to assume that this one was well taken care of but records and a PPI will decide on that.
We know that, when new, M Coupes sat on many dealer lots while their M3 siblings got all of the love. 17 years later, that quirkiness has faded as people have come to appreciate the combination of M performance and hatchback practicality. Slip on this Shoe on eBay with a $25,987 asking price.
