One of our first write ups was for a brown BJ60 Land Cruiser, and 150+ featured cars later it looks like our taste hasn't changed much. This one is in Florida, has some recent engine work, and looks to have some potential as a no reserve auction.
The seller is light with information and doesn't give an history as to how this diesel cruiser found its way to the states. Most of the 60 series diesels that we see are of Canadian origin with the rust to go along with it. The body on this truck is dent free and looks to have received a respray at some point in a more metallic brown than would have been stock.
Underside shots look to be clean and rust free so we're hoping that the respray isn't hiding any unpleasant surprises. The frame appears to be clean, but there is some discoloration / possible signs of paint that warrant further investigation as to whether or not there is rust lurking on the frame, or if repairs have been attempted.
Inside things are worn as expected though we have seen much worse on Land Cruisers of this vintage. An aftermarket gauge is visible to the left of the steering wheel that we're curious about.
Recent service included rebuilt injectors and shots of the motor look tidy. The seller says that the 5 speed transmission shifts well and the clutch does not slip. No specific mention is made of the 4WD system but the seller brags about how capable this truck is and shows some semi-offroad shots so we imagine things are in working order.
There are lots of questions to be answered here, but if you're in the market for a 60 series that came from the factory with a diesel, you need to follow up on every lead. You can find this truck on eBay in DeLand, Florida with no reserve.
