This 1966 Porche 912 has some red flags that makes us think scam, but 912 fever has us wanting to investigate. Any Atlanta or Athens-based Moto Roster members looking for a weekend road trip to Sugar Hill to shed some light on this mystery?
Our Craigslist crawler has surfaced this 912 a few times now and we've seen the price come down from $18,000 to its current $16,500. It also dug up a listing using the same photos and a similar description out of the Pacific Northwest which obviously raises questions. On the flip side, the buyer insists on local buyers which seems like it's the opposite of a scam.
There are only 3 photos and a short description, but things look promising enough to warrant further investigation. The only other red flag is that, given the limited info and photos, this looks like it could be a deal so it's surprising that it's still available (and even had a price reduction). No undercarriage shots are shown, but we'd expect work to be needed here.
After numerous attempts, we finally got the seller to respond and told us to call back on Monday to see if it's still there. Sounds like we need a southern Moto Roster envoy to go and check this out in person. Any volunteers?
Take a nice trip to Sugar Hill to check out this 1966 Porsche 912.
