This 1950 Dodge Power Wagon has lots of new parts underneath a nicely used but not used up exterior. With an 8 foot bed, and what look to be 1 ton+ springs in the back, the guys at Home Depot with sheetrock hanging out of their 5 foot beds will have no choice but to bow down.
This Power Wagon is a distant relative of some of today's full sized luxury trucks. That's reinforced by the fact that this Power Wagon came optioned with the rare "driver's side armrest." That said, it also came with a cigar lighter so maybe there's an inkling of where we'd be 65 years later. In terms of interesting options, the rear PTO is very rare and something we're more familiar with on tractors than trucks.
Lots has gone into this truck lately including 5 new tires, glass up front, floor pans, wood in the bed, fuel lines, and rear springs. The paint looks perfect as-is, and we just need the freshly-powdercoated wheels and new tailgate to get some wear on them to even things out.
The new looking suicide knob is helpful for maintaining control over the huge, skinny, 3-spoke wheel. The seller's simple statement that it "steers and stops like a 1950 Dodge pickup" is all that you need to know. The rear springs look like they are ready for all 1.5 tons of cargo capacity this thing is capable of carrying and we imagine that driving this truck without a good deal of weight back there is an interesting experience.
This Power Wagon is on offer on eBay in Cedar City, Utah with 10 days left and reserve not yet met at $10,000. It will be interesting to see where this one ends up compared to some of the full on "restorations" that are out there.
