Most ex-fire service vehicles that we feature are German makes with the occasional Land Rover thrown in for good measure. This Toyota Land Cruiser is the somewhat quirky BJ43 and looks like it was pretty pampered while on fire duty in France where it racked up less than 10,000 miles.
This diesel Toyota is extremely well presented with tons of high quality photos from a seller who seems very familiar with buying and selling vehicles. He imported this truck and it comes with a clear Florida title.
The low mileage Land Cruiser looks extremely clean and original with some unique factory options like a PTO and 24V siren. It received a repaint recently and though it looks good, a lot of hardware also received paint which is a shame.
The soft top is interesting and we don't think we've ever seen one where the unique ambulance doors have survived. It is a full soft top though so this might not be the best choice for Northern climates. Due the the rarer 43 chassis, it may prove difficult to source a hard top.
The engine is about the cleanest B motor we’ve ever seen and is said to “pull strong, has lots of torque, does NOT smoke and fires up easily.” Injectors, glow plugs, and the fuel pump were all checked out recently along with an oil change.
Inside things look great with seating for 8 if the 6 in the back are all friends. We're assuming the extra stick on the left is the PTO and the big red button on the dash cover is for the siren.
We like the white bumpers on the outside and BFG's even if we're not crazy about the rims. The spare tire looks like it may still be the original Dunlop.
Bidding is up to 15k already on this no reserve BJ43 and we wouldn't be surprised if it doubles from there.
