Stored for the last 27 years, this low mileage 1967 Mercedes 200 Diesel still has subtly striking style after nearly 50 years. It's currently sharing a garage with a G500, but it could be leaking diesel on your cement if you've got $6,995 burning a hole in your pocket.
Powered by the M121 4 cylinder diesel, this sedan isn't going to get you anywhere fast but it should get you anywhere with style. The 4 speed is our preference and should keep things interesting even with limited HP under the hood.
The seller claims that this diesel has been in storage for the last 27 years and overall it looks to be in nice original condition. A cracked windshield and some askew driving lights need to be sorted out, and there is also a bit of rust to tend to. We are suckers for color matched Mercedes wheels.
The interior looks to be in great condition, and could be believed to be original with only 78,000 miles on the clock.
Said to have "drove great", we like that this is at least a runner and could be on the road with hopefully minimal work. Brakes have been gone through, but the seller doesn't sound terribly confident about that so we'd plan on revisiting those in addition to all of the standard refreshing for a car that has been sitting for a quarter century.
In our minds, the "Heckflosse's" are some of the best looking "normal" cars of the 60's. We'd love to have this one in the stable, even if we feel like we'd have to wear a tie anytime that we drove it. Maybe that's not such a bad thing.
