We've had a Range Rover on our roster since day one and we're thinking that a West Coast import might be the way to go. A car in average West Coast condition like this one would be advertised as near-mint in the salt covered roads leading to MR headquarters. This LWB County has high mileage but all the right options and no rust. If the price leaves room for shipping, this California girl might need to get her snow boots out and head East.
1993 gets you into the sweet spot of the 4.2L engine, and this rover has already lost its air suspension in favor of coils. That conversion is basically standard maintenance on these rovers, but we'd be interested in how many original air bag setups are still out in the wild.
Lots of maintenance items have been taken care of including tires, alternator, water pump and rear brakes so this could be a get in and drive deal. A heater core that needs to be installed could be an issue as it's currently a cold snap out East and heater cores can be a nightmare job depending on what level of interior disassembly is necessary.
We're not crazy about Roman Bronze, but Sorrel Brown is our prefered interior and a new headliner is a nice addition. We prefer the tri-spoke rims for more of a U.N. feel, but the 16 inch alloys do give you much more choice in the tire department.
This Rover has lived its life mainly in the dry West and we like the picture of it being used in Washington state at a "Logging Interest" for 10 years. We have visions of it crawling up logging roads which is about our ideal amount of off-road for these luxury utes.
If this one were a bit closer, we'd have cash in hand already. As it stands, we might have to have one of our Silicon Valley buddies check it out for us and let us know if we should start making room in the garage.
