These aren't quite the unobtanium vehicles that they once were now that 25 years have passed and they're easier to import, but this one is still tantalizing. It has all of the right options and is only a few hours away from Moto Roster HQ which could make for a dangerous situation. It would look great with a red bow on it for anyone scrambling to do some last minute shopping for us.
This E30 checks all of the boxes as far as we're concerned: wagon, AWD, 5 speed, and even though they're not shown the seller says that the original basketweave wheels are included. We even like the sunroof and the towing hitch is a nice addition as well.
The "factory premium rare feature headlight wipers" are indeed unique and we can't recall ever seeing them on an E30 before. The "BMW security system" looks awfully aftermarket to us but we'll give the seller the benefit of the doubt.
The interior looks well used after 155k miles but clean. We're big fans of the three spoke steering wheel. Shots of the engine bay and battery compartment show a similar level of cleanliness and no apparent rust.
The alpine white paint looks presentable, but this is definitely a car that was used as intended. Plenty of scratches and blemishes are visible in most of the provided photos and the front spoiler looks like it has seen every one of those 155,000 miles.
All in all, this looks like a decent driver assuming there's nothing ominous lurking. That said, the $15,000 asking price is quite a premium over what a 325ix sedan would command. You'd definitely be paying for the rarity / work that went into importing this vehicle and they're becoming much easier to get stateside now.
We can't help but feel that this is a $6,500 car in Europe. That's not to say we wouldn't love to own it, or that the seller is out of line in his asking price. We're just wondering if we couldn't do some leg work on our own, import a couple of these and sell one to cover the other. Who do we know that lives in a European port city?
This 325ix wagon is on Craigslist in Northeast Ohio.
