This will be a quick write-up for a slow car. With only 13,109 miles on the clock, we would guess this van has to be in the running for the lowest mileage Syncro Vanagon in existence. It looks like it just rolled out of a VW showroom in 1986 and we're hoping that the stereo comes with a "Stuck with You" cassingle in it.
On offer in Eugene Oregon, this Vanagon spent most of its life in Tennessee where it sat undiscovered in a barn for many years after the original owners passed away. It was brought back to life with what looks to be a substantial amount of work to address all of the things that go wrong with a car during an extended rest including: new fuel lines, slave and master cylinders, and all new fluids (including the front and rear diffs.)
5 new BFG A/T's are fitted which is always a good sign, but we're not sure about the seller's claim that they are 15 inch rims as we thought 14 would have been stock.
This is a car in rare condition but it puts it in a bit of a tough situation. For 30k, someone who is really going to put this thing to use could buy an "upgraded" rig with a GoWesty, Subaru, or even a Porsche motor in it along with any number of other enhancements.
This is without a doubt a pristine example, we're just not sure who the buyer is. We hope it finds a buyer who makes up for lost time and gets it out there in the dirt.
